Event Details
The
event will take place on the Miss Christin operated by the Potomac Riverboat Company. Boat
boarding begins at 7:15pm and the boat leaves promptly at 7:30pm and returns at
10:15pm.
The
booze cruise will travel up the Anacostia to the new baseball stadium, through
the Washington Channel past Haines Point and Ft McNair, and up the Georgetown
Channel to see most of the monuments.
Wine,
beer and light fare will be included in the ticket price, there will be no
additional costs. This is not a formal event but rather a casual
cruise, a chance to relax, enjoy the sites of DC and Alexandria spend time with
classmates outside of class as well as a chance to meet other students in the
program.
There
is paid parking at the garages indicated here: http://www.torpedofactory.org/Parking.htm. Because this event will feature alcohol
we strongly encourage attendees to use public transportation. There are many taxis available from
King St metro as well as free bus service as indicated below.

Free Bus Service from King St. Metro: The King Street Metro, which is serviced
by the Blue and Yellow lines, is the closest connection, although it is 16
blocks from the waterfront.

Free Trolley http://alexandriava.gov/Trolley
The
city of Alexandria operates the free trolley between the King Street Metrorail
Station and the Potomac River waterfront. The free trolley operates
along the one-and-a-half mile route seven days a week from 11:30 a.m. to 10:00
p.m.

Use the free DashAbout on Friday nights, all day Saturday and Sunday, which
brings you from the King Street metro to within two blocks of the waterfront at
Market Square at King and Fairfax Streets.
